The World’s Best Track & Field Meet Unveils The Nike Pre Classic Collection

Next week, the No. 1 track and field meet in the world returns to Hayward Field at the University of Oregon and brings the 2026 Nike Pre Classic Collection with it. Pre Classic’s title partner since 1978, Nike and its Pre Classic Collection will usher in new energy to athletes and fans at this year’s event.

The tradition of Nike athletes donning a new kit for The Prefontaine Classic continues, with this year’s design capturing the energy, intensity, and optimism of race day. A reduced, intentional palette, including Electric Green and Bright Crimson, delivers a glowing, reactive effect that is both modern and unmistakable from a distance. The race-day prints are inspired by growth, breath and movement, visually translating the constant push for progression and preparation. Layered textures and circular motifs convey the rhythm of performance – a living expression of effort and optimism on the world stage. They are rooted in a disruptive visual identity and built for world-class performances.

All Nike athletes at Pre Classic will don the new kit in engineered, competition-specific silhouettes – including singlets, shorts, tights, outer layers, and accessories to extend performance and styling for a full system offering.

The best track and field fans in the world have the opportunity to take home a piece of The Prefontaine Classic themselves. The Marshfield District Fan Festival will be anchored by The Fieldhouse, one of the largest and most immersive consumer retail experiences The Prefontaine Classic has ever seen. Featuring dozens of exclusive 2026 Pre Classic men’s, women’s, and youth apparel and accessories. The Fieldhouse will be open for the duration of the Fan Festival on both Friday and Saturday.

Fan apparel available at this year’s Pre Classic will reflect the energy and bold, modern expression that Nike brings to its athletes. For the first time ever, merchandise supporting the Pre Classic’s two renowned events will be available for fans to bring home: the Mutola 800m and Bowerman Mile t-shirts. The designs of these limited edition shirts highlight three of each event’s legendary athletes toeing the line in this year’s fields.

To earn a spot on the t-shirt, an athlete competing in the 2026 Prefontaine Classic must also be the reigning Olympic or World gold medalist in the event, the reigning Pre Classic champion in the event, or a multi-time Pre Classic winner in the event. The Mutola 800m tee will feature reigning Olympic 800m gold medalist Keely Hodgkinson, reigning World 800m gold medalist Lilian Odira, and reigning Mutola 800m champion Tsige Duguma. The Bowerman Mile tee will feature reigning Olympic 1500m gold medalist Cole Hocker, reigning Bowerman Mile champion Niels Laros, and multi-time Bowerman Mile champion Timothy Cheruiyot.

Additional Nike Pre Classic apparel includes a tone-on-tone “Track Watermark” graphic t-shirt designed to commemorate Friday night at the Pre Classic, only available for Friday night attendees to purchase. The 2026 edition of the meet’s Nike t-shirt features a version of this year’s meet poster on the back and will be available both Friday and Saturday. The retail experience at The Fieldhouse is expanded to also include outerwear, headwear, bags, and more. Collegiate heritage, vintage run culture, and global sport intersect to inspire this year’s collection. Quantities are limited, and fans are highly encouraged to get to The Fieldhouse early to make their purchases.

The tentative event schedule windows for each day of competition are: Friday, 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. / Saturday, 12:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Tickets, VIP Experience Packages, and Accommodations packages are now on sale.
