The Prefontaine Classic invites fans of all ages to take part in the second annual Night of Miles at the Pre Classic on Thursday, July 3, at Hayward Field. There is no cost to participate in the event.

Whether you run or walk, experience the thrill of completing a mile under the lights on the iconic track where some of the world’s greatest athletes have competed.

Chasing a specific time? The WaveLight pacing system will guide you with a variety of pace options. Heats will be organized by seed time and run from slowest to fastest, beginning at 6:00 p.m. PT.

On-site registration will be available at the check-in tent located outside the north gate near the Hayward Tower, but advance registration is strongly recommended for accurate heat placement.

Check-in begins at 4:45 p.m. PT at the southeast gate (across from the fire station) of Hayward Field.
Yes, family and friends are welcome to cheer you on from the seating bowl – no ticket needed.
No, bag check will not be available. Participants are encouraged to leave their personal belongings in their car or with someone who’s not racing.
Yes, restrooms are available around the Hayward Field concourse.
Results can be found here after your race. Live results will be available on race day.
