Full List of Athletes Announced for 50th Edition of The Prefontaine Classic

Final athlete entries have been made and accepted by the meeting organizers of the 50th edition of The Prefontaine Classic. The full list of entries are now available here.

This year’s meet will see nearly 300 athletes representing more than 40 countries descend on Hayward Field at the University of Oregon to compete in 27 professional events. Fans will witness 98 Olympic and Paralympic medalists – including 48 Olympic and Paralympic gold medalists – and 14 world record holders in one of the deepest single-day track and field meets ever assembled. Of the 98 Olympic and Paralympic medalists, 62 brought home podium accolades from the most recent Paris Olympic Games – 25 of those medals were gold.

Fans will get to see five full podium rematches from Paris in the Women’s 100m, Men’s 400m, Women’s 1500m, Women’s 3000m Steeplechase, and Women’s Long Jump. Furthermore, twelve more of this year’s Pre Classic events feature multiple medalists from Paris.

The action starts at 10:00 a.m. Pacific time with the Men’s Hammer Throw and concludes at 3:00 p.m.. Track and field fans around the world can watch the first three hours (10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) on USATF.TV. The final two hours (1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.) of the meet will be broadcast live on NBC and Peacock. The Prefontaine Classic will be broadcast to more than 170 countries and territories. The 50th edition of The Prefontaine Classic will be held on Saturday, July 5 at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. Lexus Legacy Experience VIP packages, which can be purchased in addition to an event ticket, are on sale now.
